Business Meeting Minutes, March 17, 2010
DerFotoKlub of Fredericksburg met at the FBG Hospital on March 17, 2010. The business meeting was called to order by the Vice-President, Rebecca Flynt, @ 7:05 pm. Members present were Hans Bauer, Troyce Bodenhamer, Rebecca Flynt, Clarissa Goff, Cynthia Hurayt, Cynthia Lively, Rebekkah McFarlan, Larry Miller, Tom Rust, Minerva Switzer, Dyana Walker, Joseph Walsh, John Williams, Rudi Winzinger & Dyana's guest from Chicago, Tina Harper. Welcome! & Thank You for coming.
Secretary's report: The minutes were approved and seconded as posted on our site by the members present.
Treasurer's report: Bob Grinslade reported the club began with a balance of $1,504.62; $475.00 in deposits were made during the previous month with $721.75 in expenditures, leaving an ending club balance of $1,257.87. Please email Bob any suggestions for cd/dvd suggestions to purchase for educational programs. And our image presentation lights are up.
Field Trip report: Cynthia Hurayt reminded everyone of the circle shoot coming up Saturday the 27th (details posted on the website) & that there will be a scavenger hunt scheduled in May. (P.S. this secretary can say it was a blast and we got so many great pics of each other we're considering having a slideshow to share with you later in the year)
Program report: Diane Walker announced that Jim Fox will be giving a presentation on "workflow" in April.
Education report: Rebecca Flynt reminded the club of the educational workshop/refresher course, to be held Tuesday evening at 7pm, March 30th, titled, "Photo 101" taught by Joe Walsh. (what's an F-stop & why do I need to know + more) There will be an announcement made in the newspaper next week. P.S.!! **this workshop has been canceled till further notice**
Announcements:
- Dyana Walker will be having a show/ Mad Hatter's Party! this Saturday the 20th from 1-3, entitled, "Down the Rabbit Hole" At the River's Edge in Kerrville through the end of March. Be sure to stop in to take a look.
- Dyana Walker & Cynthia Hurayt will be showing at the Kerr Arts & Cultural Center in Kerrville April 22 - May 23 on "Images in Silver" The Art of Darkroom Photography. Artist's Reception will be on Sat, Apr 24 from 1-3pm.
- Larry Miller, chair for the judging committee, announced they have decided upon a proposed amendment to Article XI - Annual dinner and year-end competition of By-laws of DFK of FBG, where members can submit up to 4 images in a total of two categories, Color & B/W.
- Next week there will be a Board Meeting @ Dona's house, Wed, March 24th @ 7pm.
- The deadline for t-shirt ideals will be postponed till next meeting- please email Latrisha Jackson with your creative designs!
Photography Assignment: The subject for next month is "Urban Decay/Graffiti" - so keep your eyes and camera shutters open for photo opportunities!
Cookies and Coffee Volunteer: Clarissa Goff has volunteered to bring cookies to the next meeting and perform coffee detail.
Photograph sharing (photographer's choice) was led by Joe Walsh.
The next meeting will be April 7th, 2010, 7pm, at the FBG hospital.
