Minutes from the last meeting
MARCH 3, '09 BOARD MEETING MINUTES
DerFotoKlub of Fredericksburg met at Photography 414 on March 3, 2009. The board meeting was called to order by President, Dona Drew, @ 7:02 pm. Members present were Dona Drew, Rebecca Flynt, Cynthia Lively, Larry Miller, Zach Pooser and Karen Pooser.
Dona started off the meeting by asking who knew Carol Watson for a possible program. Larry Miller said he will contact her.
Hospital Photos- Need new liason if Jim Heupel can't do it. Larry Miller volunteered.
CD player for program night- Larry discussed purchasing one from Wal-Mart since there was a TV at 414. Later on it was decided we'd use Zach's laptop/projector. Also there was some talk of where'd we meet if 414 closed, something to consider.
Newspaper coverage- Need a photo when we get our new projector and the PCAA president. Also need photo of our yr end competition. Dona will email Rebecca for photos, Larry has a couple.
Program Time Limits- It was decided really good guest speakers don't need time limits. Larry, as program chairman, suggested 25-30 minutes was reasonable. All agreed. 9PM should be lock up time. Larry brought up offensive images shown by guest speakers. Zach said if images are offensive we need a disclaimer. It was agreed whoever arranges for the guest speaker needs to make sure of that.
Update DF handout- Cynthia Lively volunteered to design a small business card to hand out to new members & guests with our website on it & contact info.
Thank You Cards- Cynthia Lively will send one to the Sniders. Larry Miller will send one to the Austin Camera Club. Rebecca made a note to mention it in the paper.
DFK Library- will be kept at 414 consisting of DVDs, mags & books, & will need "property of DFK" labels.
Programs- Zach will call his friend Steve, an Austin photographer, who has 15 yrs experience & one of the top wedding albums. Larry recommended a San Antonio newsman for June. Cynthia Lively brought up Bill Bush's tax presentation- Dona will ask if anyone's interested at next meeting.
Meeting was brought to a close with Rebecca Flynt announcing that Glen Stranahan placed 1st in photo at the Art Guild's People & Places & Rebecca got a honorable mention. Next board meeting will be May 1st.
